Old Domain Rank Better

I’m forgetting where I have read that old domain will rank better on search engine. I want to test that statement but I don’t know how to test it. What I have knew were my site got rank on Alexa better than my other domain, since this domain is older than my other domain. So, that statement maybe true. I hope someone can give me some proof about their experience. I want someone share about their opinion or their own experience about old domain and how they get ranked by search engine such as Google or Yahoo. Were they got better than younger domain or not. Anyone who has experience on that thing, invited to shared your opinion.
